What to expect
Preah Rumkel is a small community on the Mekong near the Lao border, established as a community-based ecotourism site in 2007. The community offers homestays, Khmer and Lao meals, English-speaking guides and boat trips toward the Mekong waterfalls. Published reference prices include US$5 per foreign guest for a homestay, US$10 per day for an English-speaking guide, and US$15–20 per boat for routes serving up to five guests.
