What to expect
Chambok is a community-based ecotourism site beside Kirirom National Park, around 110 km from Phnom Penh. Its signature experience is a guided 3.5 km forest hike to a waterfall rising about 40 metres, with local guides explaining the surrounding plants and wildlife. Other community activities can include bat-cave visits, birdwatching, cycling, ox-cart rides and cultural performances.
Established in 2002 with support from Mlup Baitong, Chambok offers community guides, homestays, local meals and handicrafts. Published reference rates list homestays at US$3 per night, breakfast at US$1.50, and lunch or dinner at US$2.50. Waterfall flow and trail conditions vary by season, so confirm activities and current prices before travelling.
