18th Anniversary of Preah Vihear Temple’s UNESCO Inscription
Preah Vihear National Authority marked 18 years since the temple’s UNESCO World Heritage inscription with an official ceremony on 5 July 2026.
What to expect
On 5 July 2026, the Preah Vihear National Authority hosted a ceremony marking the 18th anniversary of Preah Vihear Temple’s inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The programme took place at the Samdech Techo Hun Sen Preah Vihear Natural Museum in Sra Em Commune, Choam Ksan District.
Held under the theme “Conservation, Destruction, and Restoration,” the ceremony highlighted Cambodia’s work to protect, conserve and restore the temple. Preah Vihear Temple was inscribed on the World Heritage List on 7 July 2008.
