What to expect
Cambodia’s government has suspended the main 2026 Water Festival celebrations along the Tonle Sap River in front of the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh.
The official circular says provincial and municipal administrations may still hold local celebrations in line with community traditions and local capacity. Confirm the programme directly with the relevant provincial authority before travelling. The national public holiday remains in place from 23–25 November.
