What to expect
From 21 to 23 March 2026, visitors could watch the equinox sunrise align with Angkor Wat’s central tower. APSARA National Authority prepared traffic, cleanliness and safety support for the large crowds expected during the observation window.
More than 30,000 Cambodian and international visitors gathered on the morning of 22 March. The alignment is a striking demonstration of the Khmer Empire’s astronomical and architectural knowledge.
